Leanimal TEASER

Oh the ruffles! That's right, my favorite PR designer has an etsy site, but the bad news is... these are all items that are sold already. I don't think she is allowed to sell anything while the show is running. I am kind of bummed because I know her prices will skyrocket after the show :(

I can't stop posting about wallpaper... Here is a great substitution for the coolest and most expensive wallpaper in the world.

Okay so I really am a little bit too obsessed with the "Woods" wallpaper by Cole and Son. I want it, need it, dream about it, but there is no way I am going to spend a G on one room's walls.

So.... once again I am going back to Graham and Brown. This is there Enchanted wallpaper that comes in all different colors from golds to black. It's a little bit morbid but I like it.

Going Green... in the Laundry Room

I got inspired by a picture in Domino for Kate Spade's kitchen and wasn't brave enough to do something that loud in a place that everyone would see all of the time so I did it in the laundry room. So far... it's my favorite room in the house!

Textured Walls....YES!

So I have obviously been obsessed with wallpaper lately trying to figure out which to use in the front room. I ordered 9 patterns from Target online (out of the 600 that they have, yep.) Most of them are Graham and Brown so I decided to look at some more online. Not only are they cheaper from Graham and Brown directly, but they have way better designs to choose from including these texture and paint designs which are genius! I honestly think I will just leave them white.

Renovation...Yuck!

Our house closed, yay! While I was gone this weekend, Dan ripped up all of the carpet in our house and chipped away at the tile. What a nice husband!

Here is Dan ripping the linoleum off the laundry room floor and scraping the popcorn off of the ceiling. I took the rest of it off of the kitchen. It's really gross. Is this what people are going to say in 30 years when they rip our floors up? Are they going to think that everything is as awful as I do?

Couchy

Here it is... I have been looking for a French Provincial Sofa that I wouldn't have to re-upholster and I finally found it. I think I will paint the trim glossy white and throw some cute pillows on it. I also think Dan is going to hate the Mustard Corduroy fabric but whatevs, I LOVE it.

I totally Pirated this pic from Courtni's Blog

I just cut Courtni's hair like Edie Sedgwick and I am soooooo jealous. She really looks like Sienna Miller so it's perfect on her. I stole this from her blog... thanks Courtni!

Is it bad if I am in love... with a Chair?

I found this Teak Root chair the other day and almost passed out in excitement! It was at a discount store. Too bad I learned a great trick on Design Star the week before... these designers found a giant carved dining table and talked the guy down to $500 because of a crack (which actually looks cool). I did the same thing. The manager gave me 20% off because of the cracks... sucker! How much do you think it ended up costing me? Nope, not $800-$2500 like they should be (YIKES!)... a mere $160. YES!!! Special thanks to Amanda James who helped confirm that the chair was "Pretty".

Oh the Del Mar Fair!

I don't know anyone else who would get excited about extract except for me! We went the fair last night and came home with Chamois, Ray Bans, and 5 different flavors of extract for cupcakes!!! Pineapple, Peach, Banana, Strawberry, Lemon.

Do Your Part to Save the Enviornment

Plastic water bottles are littering the earth. As a lot of people recycle their bottles, most still don't. Dan and I bought stainless steel water bottles and use a Brita two gallon tank that we keep in our fridge. Dan hasn't had caffeine since. It's amazing how good the water tastes out of these! You can get them at REI, whole foods and any other "green" store. This red one is Dan's.

I love this!

This SIGG is pretty.

Kellie has this bottle.

Also, If you are in to sending a message you can get this one right off the SIGG website.

Mid Century Ranch Style Home

Would most people be excited to move into a neighborhood with elderly people all around? Or rock yards? I drove through the area while we were thinking of buying in a completely different area and fell in love. It wreaks of Mid Century Modern and hopefully we can restore the front to look like it did originally. It was built in 64 and has the original oven. Hope it works! These are a few examples of what Ranch Homes look like. Unfortunately this is not my neighborhood. I think these house numbers would look great on it.

Wallpaper Lined Shelves and a Book Case I love!

My Color Palette

It is looking a but drab isn't it? Reminds me of June gloom in San Diego. I need to figure out a way to add my favorite color...poppy. It compliments all of these oceanic tones but is still a huge contrast. I found this old vogue spread from April that shows the great combination of these colors.

Molding Frames on the Walls

I love this idea. I think I would do a double set of it, more like a frame. It would be really cute to put wallpaper in between the inner and outer set of molding. I think this adds a great architectural element.

Some great Tiles

I am really into glass mosaic tiles right now. I hope it's not just one of my obsessive phases like my black and white damask phase I went through last year. I want to use it for my kitchen back splash. It's also shown in a bathroom that looks really cool! Still haven't decided what color scheme to use. I will have white cupboards, black granite and once again, gray walls.

Wallpaper

These are prints from heaven as far as I am concerned. Anyone who knows Dan and I knows that we love bird and animal art. Can I figure out a way to incorporate this, what could be hideous to others but delicious to us, wallpaper into my house? Oh and if you love it too, here is the website http://www.trustworth.com/wallpaper.shtml.

Help me out with my floor color!!

Which one looks best? My walls will be a cool, light gray and my molding and plantation shutters white.

POLYVORE

Have you heard of Polyvore? You can do everything from outfits to random collages and storyboards. Here are a few room ideas and outfits I put together. The best part is that this is all stuff that you can buy online!

It's been awhile...

I have no idea what I have been doing for the last 6 months that I don't have time for the blog. Let's face it, I haven't had the desire. We're moving into our own little house soon and now I have decided to share the remodel of our tiny Ranch House so I have the opinions of my friends. Trust me I need every opinion you have, I am horrible at decorating!!
