Latest Obsession.... Fruit Trees

When we moved in here, there were already 2 trees here. An Orange and Satsuma Mandarin. Orange tree makes about 10 oranges/year and is super ghetto. On the other hand our mardarin tree is awesome. It's in our front yard and people poach them all of the time. Dan caught a lady red handed and her (picture Napoleon Dynamite's Grandma) response was "You guys have the best Mandarin's in the neighborhood, I've tried them all", Dan couldn't even respond to this. Anyone wanting to plant a citrus tree, this is the one I recommend. The fruit is not too attached to the skin so its SUPER easy to peel and no seeds.
Limequat Tree- Dan just bought me one. It's obviously a cross breed between a lime and a kumquat. I just used one when I was cooking chicken. It was pretty good and really juicy. Easier to squeeze than a lime so that was good.
Now I just need my Avocado, Lemon and Grapefruit trees and I will be set! Oh maybe Apricot too!

SOON TO COME......

House before and afters! You have been waiting for almost 2 years for these!!

Animal Cops

Lately I've been sick a lot and I watch animal planet all day long. But why do I watch Animal Cops or those ASPCA commericals? I cry everytime. The first picture is of a dog that lives in a back yard that needs to be weeded, she's starving and dirty... just kidding that's Lucy, she's ours haha. Lucy looks sooooo malnourished but I promise she eats 3 cups of food a day, she's just half coyote or something.

I'm baaaaaaaccccckkkkkk!

I love the iphone. It can make anyone feel like they are a really cool photographer. Please note..... I KNOW I AM NOT a really cool photographer. This is our roadtrip to Arizona over Pres Day Weekend.

Saddest News Ever!!! No More Domino Magazine!

I just read that the March issue of Domino Mag is the last one ever! My heart is Broken. I waited 3.5 weeks out of the month for this magazine to arrive. As soon as I read it (usually about 3-4 days) I waited for the next eagerly.

Luigi Murenu

Amazing! I went to class for Kerastase this week and Italian Hair Designer, Luigi Murenu showed us his famous "Hair Bow". He's an amazing artist who dresses the hair of the runways such as Viktor and Rolf and Alexander McQueen. His hair design is also fetured frequently in W mag. I was James Peter's model for the style that starts out in very very tight ponytail, it seems to be Luigi's signature. My eyes were instantly lifted and... it hurt! Beauty is pain baby, beauty is pain!

I told my friend who showed me this website that I wouldn't tell anyone about it but I HAVE to post the pictures... You can probably figure it out if you really want to.

I am craving....

ORANGE CREAM CHEESE CUPCAKES! Today I decided to eat no carbs and of course this is also the day that I got an email from a friend asking for my Orange Cream Cupcake recipe. Ugh!

You know that I LOVE animals... but I want to KILL coyotes.

When I see them in my driveway I try to run them over. That's a little dramatic, but I do drive my car really fast at them to chase them away. (I probably would cry and feel bad if I ran one over.) They've taken almost all of my cats growing up. They are evil. I miss this little ball in the morning. As psycho as she was, I miss my Kitty Baby!

Leanimal TEASER

Oh the ruffles! That's right, my favorite PR designer has an etsy site, but the bad news is... these are all items that are sold already. I don't think she is allowed to sell anything while the show is running. I am kind of bummed because I know her prices will skyrocket after the show :(

I can't stop posting about wallpaper... Here is a great substitution for the coolest and most expensive wallpaper in the world.

Okay so I really am a little bit too obsessed with the "Woods" wallpaper by Cole and Son. I want it, need it, dream about it, but there is no way I am going to spend a G on one room's walls.

So.... once again I am going back to Graham and Brown. This is there Enchanted wallpaper that comes in all different colors from golds to black. It's a little bit morbid but I like it.

Going Green... in the Laundry Room

I got inspired by a picture in Domino for Kate Spade's kitchen and wasn't brave enough to do something that loud in a place that everyone would see all of the time so I did it in the laundry room. So far... it's my favorite room in the house!

Textured Walls....YES!

So I have obviously been obsessed with wallpaper lately trying to figure out which to use in the front room. I ordered 9 patterns from Target online (out of the 600 that they have, yep.) Most of them are Graham and Brown so I decided to look at some more online. Not only are they cheaper from Graham and Brown directly, but they have way better designs to choose from including these texture and paint designs which are genius! I honestly think I will just leave them white.

Renovation...Yuck!

Our house closed, yay! While I was gone this weekend, Dan ripped up all of the carpet in our house and chipped away at the tile. What a nice husband!

Here is Dan ripping the linoleum off the laundry room floor and scraping the popcorn off of the ceiling. I took the rest of it off of the kitchen. It's really gross. Is this what people are going to say in 30 years when they rip our floors up? Are they going to think that everything is as awful as I do?

Couchy

Here it is... I have been looking for a French Provincial Sofa that I wouldn't have to re-upholster and I finally found it. I think I will paint the trim glossy white and throw some cute pillows on it. I also think Dan is going to hate the Mustard Corduroy fabric but whatevs, I LOVE it.

Is it bad if I am in love... with a Chair?

I found this Teak Root chair the other day and almost passed out in excitement! It was at a discount store. Too bad I learned a great trick on Design Star the week before... these designers found a giant carved dining table and talked the guy down to $500 because of a crack (which actually looks cool). I did the same thing. The manager gave me 20% off because of the cracks... sucker! How much do you think it ended up costing me? Nope, not $800-$2500 like they should be (YIKES!)... a mere $160. YES!!! Special thanks to Amanda James who helped confirm that the chair was "Pretty".
